Aamir Qutub, Founder and CEO of Enterprise Monkey brings to you our very first monthly update, to keep you updated with everything that is happening in the crazy Enterprise Monkey world. We will be bringing to you news about life at Enterprise Monkey, technology highlights, new client and internal project’s we’re working on, client website and app launches, tech tips and much more…!

Introduction

If you aren’t already aware, we launched our software development company from humble beginnings in 2014 in Geelong, regional Victoria and have now grown to Australia’s leading full-stack development company with offices in Australia and India, with clients all around the world.

What’s new?

We recently opened a new office in Noida, India after 2 years of Work from Home.  Around 50% of Indian team is back in the office. Our Australian team is still working from home and we are currently using the office space mainly for meetings or catchup with clients.

Achievements

In April, Enterprise Monkey were made members of the Committee for Geelong. This committee is made up of a collaborative group of stakeholders and influencers to design Geelong’s best future. With our Australian office based in Geelong, it’s important to me and our team to be connected with our community and contribute to the ongoing success of the fantastic town.
Early last month, I was invited by Deakin University’s Vice Chancellor, Ian Martin to watch a Cats vs Brisbane Lions game with him at the GMHBA stadium. Talking about the game – the Commonwealth games are coming to Geelong – and we are looking forward to help and get involved. I will keep you updated on the progress.

I also had the honour to invited as a judge on Melbourne Future Founders Program – Venture Scholarship. And I was amazed to see so many amazing start-up ideas around metaverse, blockchain, augmented reality and so on. It’s a great program and I will add a link in the description.

New to the team

As a growing business, our team is constantly growing too. We currently have a team of 45 staff members across both offices and every person on our team plays an important role in our success of the business.

This month, we welcomed two new members to our team and they are;

Sakshi – Who is leading our HR Department and will be handling all of our HR operations, compliance and in-house recruitment. Outside of work Sakshi loves singing and travelling in her spare time.

And also starting in April was Ayushi, our new Talent Acquisition Executive and will be working alongside Sakshi with our recruitment in the HR department. Ayshi’s talents outside of recruitment are cooking and dancing.

Join our team

We have a wide range of roles, to suit many skillsets including:
–  Developers
– Tech leads
– Project managers
– And several marketing roles.

Head over to our careers page to check out all of our current vacancies – and please do refer your friends and colleagues to us.

At this moment – we have 22 vacancies open.

New Processes

A cool new process that we have implemented this month is also around the people at Enterprise Monkey.

We are as good as our people – and we aim to be an employer of choice to attract and retain the best talent – however we are growing fast – and sometimes it is difficult to keep up. We have identified some areas that we can definitely improve in.

We are in process of developing and implementing a People Experience Strategy – like you have CX for customer experience – similarly strategy to provide an exceptional experience to our people – both employees and subcontractors – right from the interview process to joining the company, till and beyond the exit. This amazing initiative is lead by Tanzeel, Sakshi and Bushra from our HR team.

We have done a People Journey Map and identified key touchpoints – and now we are working on improving them. If you are interested in checking that – please et me know and I might cover in my next update.

By the way – we as a part of our Discovery workshop offer a service called Customer Journey Mapping where we do something similar for your Customer Personas.

What sets us apart from the pack is our breadth of expertise in many forms software development and experience guiding businesses improving their processes, disrupting business models and achieving exponential growth.

Marketing Initiatives

Claire and her team have been busy taking our combined knowledge and sharing that through our Marketing initiatives to inform and empower our audience and customers.

This month we have talked about;
–  How to design a seamless API
–  The importance of Non-Disclosure Agreement
–  Steps to take before embarking on your digital transformation
–  The value of data mapping
–  We explained what User Acceptance Testing is
–  Factors to consider when developing apps for foldable devices just to name a few.

Check out our socials for all the latest updates.

Technology Highlight

This month we also highlighted Magento as a key marketing focus. If you don’t know much about Magento and who it is best suit to, then let me give you a quick rundown.

Magento is an open-source ecommerce platform, that provides online sellers with flexible, scalable and AI-Powered ecommerce solutions. It is extremely powerful for handling concurrent checkouts and is the platform of choice for many large international brands.

Recently it has been acquired by Adobe – and it has been ranked as a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Digital Commerce solutions right alongside Salesforce & SAP.

Magento is potentially a right fit for your ecommerce business if:

–  You have an extensive product catalogue
–  Are expecting high website traffic
–  Are wanting a multi-vendor Marketplace
–  Required complex third party integrations, like Salesforce or NetSuite

It may also be that you’re currently using a platform such as Shopify and have now outgrown it’s capabilities.

These are just a few of core elements we consider when recommending an eCommerce platform such as Magento for your business. We’re all about matching the right solution with your businesses specific requirements and longer term goals.

We hope you enjoy our content and if you have any topics you’d like us to cover, please send us a message, we’d love to hear them!

Spotlight of the Month

So this month’s spotlight is on – drumroll – Sushil Kumar Kishan from our Indian office or as I call him Super Sushil.

Sushil is our Tech Lead and a super senior Software Developer and he was recently awarded with a Long Service Award for his hard work and dedication to the company over the last 5 years.

Sushil plays an important role at Enterprise Monkey and has made a direct impact on the success and growth of the company. When we asked his fellow team members to describe Sushil, they reflected that he is always supportive to the team, has a great positive approach to everything he does, is always polite, he’s the go-to for any technical expertise and always makes time to support his team.

If you want to fall in love with design thinking – reach out to our sales team – and they might be able to set you up for a virtual date with Super Sushil.

Omar’s Milestones

On a personal note, I became a father at the end of 2021 and my wife Sarah and I have been blessed with a baby boy, little Omar. Having started up my own software company and working across two time zones, I thought I was an old hand a functioning on little sleep. Boy was I wrong! A baby takes sleep depravation to a whole new level, but the reward and joy he brings is worth it all.

Omar is now 8 months old and loves to join me on zoom meetings with our team, and respond to voices join the conversation with his babbling.

New Projects

Mansi our Project Manager who is also a Geelong girl and a proud cats supporter – along with Shahbaz and Ravi are working on some very novel and unique projects and it’s great to see so many businesses prioritising digital transformation and future proofing their business.

If you’re watching from Australia, there are some great Government incentives and tax breaks to support your digital upgrade. We have more information about what’s available over on our website.

One project we excited to start on this month, is for a professional services firm that came to us wanting to solve a problem of how to improve government regulated compliance for their clients through constant reminders and AI powered calendar invites. As someone who lives by my google calendar and if a meeting isn’t in there I won’t remember, I appreciate the value of streamlining this process and the benefit to the end user. We can’t give too much away until we’ve completed the project, so stay tuned to hear more about how this simple solution to a bigger problem is solved.

Novel Solutions

Last month we worked with our client that runs multiple education programs for government bodies and councils and manage them through custom developed monolithic ERP system. Now it’s a legacy system built on a poor database architecture – and it is simply painful to operate, manage or upgrade.

We undertook an exercise with them to map out the full process, developed an Entity Relationship diagram to represent the dataflow. And then designed a microservices architecture that would be more scalable, cost effective and productive going forward.

We love getting our hands dirty with projects like this and there’s a real sense of satisfaction when we meet with our clients to present our findings and our solution to improving their business.

Words of Wisdom

Thought of the month… Disruption is a wave.

You can’t stop it from happening or run away from it. You can only read it, understand it and ride it.

To survive it you must ride the wave of disruption.
