Deakin University recently conducted an event on August 10, 2022, in Melbourne, Australia, to celebrate India’s 75th Independence with alumni of Indian origin. Sharing substantial goodwill and harmony with India, Deakin University is the first international university to open its office in India in the year, 1994.

Aamir Qutub at His Second Homeland, Deakin

The event was conducted on August 10 to celebrate 75 years of India’s Independence and to discuss their thought-provoking ideas on the “future of work” with three alumni of Indian origin. Our CEO, Aamir Qutub, was invited as one of the guest speakers. The guest panel included three business fraternity members, Ashok Mysore and Shivani Gopal, achieving great in their respective careers.

Aamir shared his insights on being an entrepreneur and how talent play its role in shaping careers. He also shed light on his own story of how he got into the shoes of an entrepreneur and his step-by-step struggles in his journey from Aligarh, a small town in India, to Geelong. In the end, a short questionnaire session also happened where students were allowed to ask questions to guests. Overall, the program was really informative and worthwhile for aspiring entrepreneurs and learners.

Deakin and India – A Two-sided Goodwill

India shares a prominent and deep-rooted relationship with Deakin University. According to professor den Hollander, “In 1994, Deakin stepped into India as a joint venture with the Australian Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists, and Managers to offer management programs through distance learning.” In 2019, Deakin marked its historic 25 years within India and announced a bursary of a total of AUD$2000 for Indians who opt for the new online hospital administration course.

Furthermore, in 2021, during the hard times of the pandemic, the university announced extending its financial support in the crisis. The university commenced its operations in New Delhi, India.

Deakin University has always been on good terms with India in different domains, including academia, industry, and government. It claims to create a vibrant space for Indian students wishing to study there. In July 2022, the university recently announced a research scholarship program 2023 for Indian students. According to the program, 20 top-achieving Indian students will be offered a 100% dispensation in their tuition fee. Mr. Aamir Qutub takes immense pride in being a Deakin alumnus.

The Independence Day

The event was conducted around Independence day, which holds great value of importance to Indians and NRIs. This year, in 2022, India is celebrating its 75th year of Independence from oppressive British rule. Indians see the day of Independence as unparalleled contributions and enormous and selfless sacrifices. It is a day to show gratitude to the great souls of India who envisioned and acknowledged the dream of independence and shed their blood for justice.

NRIs are always one step forward in proving their unconditional love and patriotism for the country. The day of the biggest festival of democracy is commemorated among NRIs in a little different way than Indians. They conjure their vehemence of national pride diversely, sometimes by gathering outside the country’s ambassador, believing that patriotism must reside in the heart of a citizen, irrespective of their place of residence outside India.

CEO, Enterprise Monkey, and Independence Day Celebrations!

Having an office in India with a team of 20+ people over there, Enterprise Monkey never misses a chance to mark the Indian Independence festival most memorably. Despite being a resident of Australia, our CEO is a forever-proud Indian, appreciative and honored to be a part of his native country, India, where he inspires millions of young and aspiring business minds.

Mr. Qutub is steadfast in delivering his felicitations for Independence to all his employees. Moreover, EM employees are on top of the heap in exchanging wishes to boost workplace morale.

Post-Independence Culture in India’s Business Industry

India has accomplished tremendous growth and evolved in many economic aspects after independence, witnessing the history of 75 years of business. Despite several underground growth cycles, the business industry successfully creates a space for it in the world-class corporate industry and businesses.

By standing and overcoming multiple factors and challenges, like the symbiotic relationship between politics and business, being labeled as a family-oriented venture, and reaching the global world economy, India has finally achieved known-face value in the global business world.

Aamir’s Contributions to the Australian Business World

Aamir, described as a “Millionaire Techie” by The Economic Times, integrates the best practices of education, technology, and advanced digitalization and contributes to the latest culture of start-ups. During his first-ever job, he got a chance to lead his team, and he raised the turnover of the company by 300%.

In 2014, Aamir, a receiver of the Australian Young Business Leader Award, began his career as an entrepreneur with Enterprise Monkey. In addition, the Ministry of Planning appointed him as a member of the Geelong Authority. He is a proud and founding member of Pivot Summit.

Mention of Aamir’s contributions is incomplete without mentioning “Angel Next Door,” – A community program to help the citizens during the pandemic.

What Does Independence Means At Enterprise Monkey?

Aamir Qutub and his venture, Enterprise Monkey, continually grow, expressing the accurate idea of independence. Being free has a diverse meaning in EM, including,

  • The freedom to choose and experiment
  • Exemption from prejudice
  • Knowing your KRAs
  • Balancing the ethical and moral behavior
  • Taking the initiative
  • Being flexible with idea sharing
  • Refusing to let self-doubt overcome your capabilities and talent
  • Recognizing self-monitoring

EM has identified the meaning of freedom, on and off work. Sharing risks and responsibilities binds everyone together and promotes the holistic career growth of individuals and teams. A feeling of deep gratification and self-reliance post-achieving success has made Indians encouraged to show progress and utilize the best of their capabilities.
